Mini Camping Leeuwerikenveld was founded in 2004 as travellers by bike on their way to Barcelona spent the night in the garden of B&B Leeuwerikenveld.

They reported their stay through the internet to Paul Benjaminse, the Dutch cartographer and author of “Onbegrenst fietsen” (unlimited cycling) who described routes to: Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Milan, Basel and other European destinations.

He described our residence for the first time as campsite in his 2005 edition. It was the start of the very first campsite for travellers in Flanders.

Since 2012 our Mini-Camping has been included in the list of registered and authorized campsites in Flanders.

Which started as campsite for travellers in 2005:

On your way, either on foot, by bike, horse, caravan or motorhome, it was very difficult to find a sleeping place in Hageland, region Tienen/Zoutleeuw.

For this reason B&B Leeuwerikenveld offered a wonderful pitch in Nicole’s garden  where travellers could rest and spend the night after a long, exhausting day.

The campsite was also indicated on the cycling route Zoutleeuw/Tienen, in the centre of Neerlinter and in Paul Benjamin’s book.

Tired? No problem, after a wonderful shower you could even enjoy a day’s menu, without obligations.

In the morning you could enjoy a delicious breakfast, without obligations.

On request we even offered a washing service to travellers!

Throughout the years the number of guests constantly increased;

yearly adaptations were required to guarantee pitches and services.

Nicole and Jos kept listening to their guests and adapted/improved their location every year.

Nowadays this is still our motto: in 2014 the mini-camping will again be a bit different than in 2013 !!!
